Sylvain Hotton
One with the force since July 5, 2024
The Forteresse Impériale Garrison was fortunate to count among its ranks an exceptional trooper, Sylvain Hotton. He left us far too soon in the summer of 2024. He made a lasting impact on the Garrison through his dedication, his commitment, the time he invested, as well as his many ideas, and his contributions in equipment, supplies, and much more.
He steadily rose through the ranks, naturally earning his place within the Garrison’s executive team as an Event Coordinator. His presence in the field was truly remarkable, both in the quality and the number of events he took part in, whether locally or beyond Quebec. Through his unwavering commitment, he made a meaningful contribution to the Garrison’s outreach and reputation.
He set himself the mission of building connections with members of the 501st Legion across the globe, collecting patches from everywhere, an achievement he was close to fulfilling. He warmly welcomed new members and was always available to discuss projects, materials, suppliers for costume components, and the future vision of the Garrison, to name just a few.
The Garrison was etched on his heart, a heart he generously opened to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. His passing has left a profound void.
In order to honour his memory, the Garrison established the Sylvain Hotton Award to recognize the member who has participated in the greatest number of events each year.
Sylvain now stands among the Eternal Legionnaires of the 501st Legion.
In Memoriam, Sylvain Hotton, TK-11408, 1967-2024
